Delete your data
The short version
- Guests' photos are deleted automatically 7 days after they're taken, unless the host pays to keep them longer.
- Hosts can delete any guest's photos, any event and any design themselves, straight away.
- To delete anything else, or your whole account, email compliance@fotobooth.dev. It's free, and we reply within 15 working days.
If you were a guest at an event
Your photos belong to the event's host (the couple, the company, or the photo booth business), who decides what happens to them. To delete them:
- Ask the host or the booth staff. They can delete your session from the event's gallery in one tap, and your photos are removed from our storage straight away. The link in your QR code stops working.
- Or email us at compliance@fotobooth.dev with the link from your QR code (it looks like app.fotobooth.dev/s/…), or the event's name, date and place. We'll pass your request to the host and help them delete it.
If nobody does anything, your photos are deleted automatically 7 days after they were taken, unless the host has extra storage, which keeps them while it's paid.
We can only delete what's on fotobooth. Copies the host saved elsewhere (their Google Drive or Dropbox, the booth computer, or printed photos) are under the host's control, so ask them too.
If you have a fotobooth account
Sign in at app.fotobooth.dev, then:
| To delete | Go to |
|---|---|
| One guest's photos | Events → the event → Gallery → the session → Delete |
| A whole event, with all its photos | Events → Delete next to the event |
| A design you made or uploaded | Templates → Delete |
| A booth (a device you set up) | Settings → Booths → Remove |
| A team member's access | Settings → Team → Remove |
Deleted photos are removed from our storage straight away, and can't be brought back.
Delete your whole account
- Email compliance@fotobooth.dev from the email address you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account".
- We confirm it's you, and tell you what will be deleted. If you own a workspace that others use, we'll ask whether to delete it or hand it to another member.
- We delete your account, your workspace's events, photos, designs and booths, and your connected storage settings, and email you when it's done.
Download any photos you want to keep first: from each event's gallery, use Download all. Any time left on a plan or Week pass ends when the account is deleted.
Google sign-in and Google Drive
If you sign in with Google, we keep your name, email address and profile picture from Google. If you connected Google Drive, we keep what's needed to copy photos to your Drive.
- To stop fotobooth using your Google account, remove fotobooth at myaccount.google.com/connections. Photos stop being copied to your Drive.
- That doesn't delete what's on fotobooth, so to delete your account too, follow the steps above.
- Photos already copied to your Google Drive are yours: delete them in Google Drive.
Facebook and Messenger
fotobooth doesn't use Facebook sign-in, and we don't get any data from your Facebook account. If you messaged our Facebook Page, you can delete the conversation in Messenger, and ask us to delete our copy by messaging the Page or emailing compliance@fotobooth.dev.
What happens after
- We reply within 15 working days, and finish deleting within 30 days of confirming the request.
- We keep only what the law makes us keep, such as payment records for Philippine tax and accounting rules, and nothing else.
- If we can't delete something, we tell you what and why.
